Local politics can sometimes be a full contact sport. When one decides to be a candidate one is subjected to a much higher level of scrutiny and critique than an average citizen. Should one be elected, this standard only intensifies. If you play the political game you must expect to defend and explain your actions and decisions at every turn. When entering into a discourse on social media with people who don't share your opinions, is a little decorum too much to ask?
